Consumer Medicine Information

Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) is information about prescription medicines (and some other medicines). A product’s CMI is written by the pharmaceutical company that supplies it, specifically for consumers and follows industry guidelines that ensure the information is accurate, unbiased and easy to understand.

A product’s CMI provides you with information and instructions to help you get the best results from your medicine and help you discuss any concerns you may have about your medicine with your doctor or pharmacist.

In Australia, Sandoz makes most product CMIs available in electronic format to ensure the most up to date consumer medicine information is available at all times. You can obtain a printed copy of a product’s CMI either from your pharmacist when filling your prescription or by accessing the leaflet from the Medicines.org.au website.
